A new "CELLOMICS" laboratory (part of Indo-Japan MEXT Project) at Central Research Laboratory, KS Hegde Medical Academy with state-of-art facilities for invitro cell culture was inaugurated on 12th September 2022 by Shri. A Public Awareness Program, "National Pollution Control Day"

The Institution Innovation Council, Nitte (DU) in collaboration with Project NISHABDA, Department of ENT, KSHEMA and Nitte Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) organized "National Pollution Control Day" in the virtual mode on 2nd December 2021.

Prof (Dr) B Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Nitte DU delivered the opening remarks and provided an overview of the University's efforts in establishing a green campus. The Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics, KSHEMA jointly conducted a workshop titled "An Outlook on Child Rights and Acts" on 3rd September 2021. The objective of the programme was to get an understanding of the Acts related to Child Rights. The Workshop focused on Acts such as Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO Act 2012), Juvenile Justice Act 2015 (J J Act), Adoption Act and legal issues associated with adoption.

Arivu-Neravu, a one-day workshop for children

Arivu-Neravu, a one-day workshop for children from various orphanages and childcare homes in Mangalore was conducted by the Mangalore Police on 28th March 2021.

This program was conceptualised with inputs from Dr Mahabalesh Shetty, HoD, Dept. of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, KSHEMA. AAKAASH (Adolescents and Kids Abuse and Sexual Health) a screening tool has also been designed by the Dept. of Forensic Medicine for this purpose.

The Medical Education Unit (MEU), K S Hegde Medical Academy conducted the White Coat Ceremony for the first-year MBBS students on 2nd February 2021 at K S Hegde Auditorium. Major Shivakumar Hiremath, Medical Superintendent, Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital, Deralakatte was the Chief Guest.
